Puppies looking for the pawfect match

If one of your New Year resolutions was to give back, then why not investigate becoming a puppy carer for Seeing Eye Dogs (SED).

SED Queensland is currently in desperate need for puppy carers to volunteer their time to love and raise a puppy, who will one day become the eyes for a client who is vision impaired.

With all costs covered by SED, the puppy caring program requires volunteers to care for a puppy in their home from the age of eight weeks until they are approximately 12 months of age.

In a time where peoples' budgets are stretched, this is a wonderful opportunity for people to get involved with the organisation without having to contribute financially. 

QLD Instructor and Puppy Development Supervisor Bev Brocklehurst explains, “Being a puppy carer is so rewarding. Your support will one day change the life for someone that is blind or has low vision and the team here at SED will support you all the way.” 

“It is a great way to test the waters if you are thinking of introducing a puppy into the family, and of course it is a wonderful way to help the community,” Bev added.

SED is the only national provider of Seeing Eye Dogs in Australia.
