Kane is not continuing in the Seeing Eye Dog training program as he doesn’t have the necessary temperament for the role. He is a high energy dog and doesn’t settle easily in various settings. Kane is a young dog that likes human attention. He enjoys being near people, particularly within the home environment. He will need to be monitored to ensure he does not attempt jump on furniture and possibly steal objects resembling toys. Kane was raised in a household with two adults and teenage children. He is a very active, excitable lad and at times vocal. He will need a full-range of his favourite chew toys (nylon bones/kongs) to assist him in settling. Play activities are best focussed in the backyard to avoid zoomies within the home. He will require regular walks in familiar areas and play sessions in a generous sized yard to help satisfy his need to burn-off energy. Kane walks nicely with a k9 bridle fitted. There is a definite magnetism about Kane, a true character but he will require appropriate care and management. He would be suitable to someone who preferably works from home and enjoys spending time with an active dog. Due to Kane’s active nature we would not encourage families with young children to apply. If you think you can provide Kane with his perfect forever home then please apply. Kane is available from Marrochydore, QLD. Kane's applicant will need to be based in QLD or willing to travel to QLD and pay for the cost of his transportation to their home state. |
Kenya has chosen pet life as he doesn’t have the necessary level of focus around distractions to be a working dog. Kenya may have grown up in an apartment with an adult female, but he's no stranger to the great outdoors. He's accompanied his carer to the workplace, where he impresses everyone with his calm demeanor. Under the desk, he's as quiet as a mouse, just soaking in the surroundings. Affection is Kenya's middle name! He adores morning cuddles and is a pro at settling down in his crate without a fuss. And when it's playtime, Kenya's all about hitting the beach and making friends with other dogs. Off-leash, he's a social butterfly, but on-leash, he can get a bit distracted by his furry pals. Now, Kenya's not perfect—he's been known to dig a hole or two when left unattended outside, and he's got a knack for counter surfing. But don't let that deter you! With a little patience and continued training, Kenya will be the perfect companion for your family. He's a pro at following you around and has even spent time with elderly people, showcasing his gentle nature. Plus, he's got excellent bathroom manners—no accidents inside! Kenya's ideal family? One with older children who can handle his excitement and who have time for daily walks and training sessions. He's a big fan of outings and would love to explore the world with you by his side. Kenya is available from Gosford, NSW. Kenya's applicant will need to be based in NSW or willing to travel to NSW and pay for the cost of his transportation to their home state. |
Nels has chosen pet life as he doesn’t have the focus and drive to be a working Seeing Eye Dog. Nels was raised in a cozy household with a retired couple, where he learned the art of affection and the joy of companionship. He's well-adjusted to home life and enjoys spending quality time with his loved ones. Nels adores people and has a special fondness for children. He's had regular playdates with a 4-year-old Golden Retriever and has been exposed to grandchildren of various ages, proving to be gentle and loving with each interaction. Whether it's a ride in the car or a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood, Nels is always up for an adventure! He's well-behaved on car rides and enjoys exploring the great outdoors with his humans. Nels is a well-behaved pup who follows you around like a shadow. He's calm and settled at home, quickly adapting to new routines and environments. Plus, he's mastered the art of crate training, making him a breeze to care for. When it comes to playtime, Nels is all about fun! He enjoys playing with soft toys and has a knack for keeping them intact. Plus, he's never had any toilet accidents indoors, making him a clean and respectful housemate. Nels may have a hearty appetite, but he's learning to slow down with the help of a slow feeding bowl. He's an opportunist when it comes to chewing, so keeping shoes and toys out of reach is a must. Nels is available from Gosford, NSW. Nel's applicant will need to be based in NSW or willing to travel to NSW and pay for the cost of his transportation to their home state. |
Kimmy has chosen pet life where she can be Queen of her kingdom. Kimmy is very loving girl on the lookout for her forever home where she can share her warmth and affection with a dedicated family. With her calm demeanor and loving nature, Kimmy is sure to steal your heart from the moment you meet her. Kimmy grew up in a household on a spacious 5-acre property, surrounded by the love and care of two radults. Kimmy shared her space with two cats and an elderly blind Maltese cross terrier. While Kimmy is a very sweet she does have a strong tendency to resource guard items she finds valuable. This can include toys and/or food. This will require management and patience in her new home environment. During her puppy development, Kimmy accompanied her caregivers to their workplace, where she was very settled. She tolerated the noise and bustle of the environment with ease. Kimmy adores spending time with her human family and is always up for a cuddle or leaning in for some affectionate touch. Kimmy exudes confidence when out and about on walks, demonstrating her calm and collected demeanor. She's a joy to accompany on leisurely strolls, taking in the sights and sounds of the world around her with grace. While Kimmy may get excited around children, she expresses her joy with a wagging bum and a polite shuffle forward. She loves nothing more than showering her loved ones with affection and enjoys being close to her human companions. Kimmy's curiosity extends to the great outdoors, where she delights in sniffing around and exploring the wonders of nature. From rabbit trails to possum sightings, Kimmy's adventurous spirit knows no bounds. Kimmy is available from Kensington, Victoria |
